Auction Insight

W&H Peacock are delighted to welcome your group or association to join us for one of our Insight Events at our Bedford Auction Centre. We offer both daytime and evening sessions with a range of catering and refreshments from our Cafe.

 

 

The plan for the evening is to arrive at 6:15pm for a 6:30pm start where your group will be welcomed with a complementary glass of wine or fruit juice on arrival. The visit will begin with a short introduction about W&H Peacock and its history in the town given by one of our specialist auctioneers.

Next, the group will be invited downstairs and given the opportunity to peruse the salerooms whilst taking part in a light-hearted valuation competition. Guests will be asked to give their opinion of value on a range of items from antique furniture, paintings, silverware, ceramics, collectables through to ex-retail products, items of machinery, household effects and many other interesting items which are included in either our Monthly Antiques & Collectors Items Sale or one of our Weekly General Sales.

On completion of your estimates we will head back up to the auction centre café where your choice of food & drink will be served whilst we mark the competition and discuss some of the items in the sale. There will even be a prize for the winner with the highest score!

The evening will conclude with the opportunity for a short question and answer session with our team.

For groups looking to book an Insight Evening, we require a minimum of 40 people in your party up to a maximum of 80. Smaller groups looking to visit are welcomed to instead consider an Insight Day event where we are able to cater from 20 to 40 guests.

The Bedford auction centre boasts ample car parking onsite along with disabled access and lift to the gallery and Café area. All prices quoted below are per head and inclusive of VAT.

Two-course meal  :  £25*

Cold platter  :  £19*

Consisting of homemade chicken skewers, filled mini jacket potatoes, sausage rolls, mini quiches and crisps.

For an additional £2 we are happy to offer you homemade cheese straws, fresh tomato and basil bruschetta and a selection of olives.

Cheese board  :  £15*

To consist of a selection of cheese and chutney garnished with salad, grapes and celery, served with biscuits.

All of the above are served with a complimentary glass of red or white wine on arrival.

Tea/coffee and biscuits can be added to the above choices for £3 per person.

Tea and cake : £10*

A small selection of homemade cakes served with tea and coffee.

The plan for the day is to arrive for 11.30am where tea and coffee will be served in our auction gallery area. The visit will begin with a short introduction about W&H Peacock and its history in the town given by one of our auctioneers. There will be an opportunity for questions about auctions, how everything works, registrations etc.

Next, the group will be shown downstairs to view items on display, en-route to our Specialist Saleroom. In the saleroom there will be an opportunity to take part in a short valuation of specific items and members of the group will be able to view lots for the forthcoming auction. With an auctioneer, we will then discuss a few of the items and their estimated worth / story behind the item.

Finally, we head back upstairs to our auction centre café overlooking the salerooms, where you can relax while our team serve your choice of lunch. The day will finish around 2.30pm.

For groups looking to book an Insight Day, we require a minimum of 20 people in your party up to a maximum of 40. Larger groups looking to visit are welcome to split their visit over two days (subject to availability) or are welcomed to instead consider an Insight Evening where we are able to cater for up to 80 guests.

Homemade Beef Lasagne served with salad and garlic bread
or
Chicken Breast in a creamy mushroom sauce served with roast potatoes and seasonal fresh vegetables

Vegetarian option –
Baked potato and a choice of filling. Served with side salad.
Filling options: Baked Beans and Cheese or Bean Chilli

Tea & Coffee and a slice of cake will be served at the end of lunch
