Retro Video Games & Trading Cards

Saturday 28th February
Commencing at 10am

Vintage video games are rapidly emerging as a prime market for a new generation of collectors, due to their cultural significance, nostalgic appeal, and growing rarity. As digital entertainment continues to evolve, games from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s have become symbolic of a formative era in technology and popular culture, making them highly sought after in today’s collector market.

In addition to these retro games, this sale also features a wide selection of trading cards including graded cards, TOPPS cards, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, box sets, sealed sets, and more offering collectors an even broader range of nostalgic and valuable items to explore.

If you own anything which you think might be suitable for this specialist sale please contact Harry Shiner on 01234 266 366 or retro@peacockauction.co.uk

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please read the following information carefully before bidding.

W&H Peacock, Auction Centre, Eastcotts Park, Wallis Way, Bedford, MK42 0PE

Friday prior to sale 8.30am – 8pm
Morning of sale from 8.30am

One important difference between an auction and a retail shop is that all goods are sold as seen. Lots could have faults or missing parts so it is very important that you carefully inspect items you are interested in buying before the sale takes place. There are no guarantees given when buying at auction. The absence of a condition report does not constitute a guarantee.

This is a live auction with in-room and online bidding.

• In-room bidding is available at the above location on sale day.
• Commission bids may be left with the auctioneer in person or through the website.
• Online bidding is available through the auction platforms found via the 'Live Online' button near the top of the page.

Prospective buyers will need to register with the auctioneer for in-person or commission bidding, or via the relevant platform for online bidding.

A buyers’ premium at 17.5% plus VAT, will be added to the bid price of each lot.

Lots purchased online also attract a platform fee of 3% plus VAT fee.

Where possible, trading cards have been verified for authenticity, however prospective bidders are reminded that, as per our Conditions of Sale, pre-sale viewing is essential. Successful buyers will therefore be deemed to have thoroughly inspected in person and confirmed the validity of all cards before bidding.

Requests for condition reports may be submitted by email or directly through the online catalogue. We regret that we are unable to process requests for condition reports received after 1pm on the day preceding the sale.

Some lots in this sale are sold by VAT registered vendors and will additionally attract VAT on the hammer price. Please refer to descriptions in the catalogue and the ‘additional fee’ box when bidding.

On sale day until 5pm and the following Monday and Tuesday from 9am to 5pm.

The auctioneers may charge storage on items not cleared by the final collection time stated above or, at their discretion, may resell uncollected lots in an appropriate sale, subject to standard commission charges, without informing the original purchaser and without refunding their payment.

For UK mailing quotes or enquiries for smaller items please contact our in-house shipping department at W&H Peacock on 01234 608 908 or email shipping@peacockauction.co.uk

Please see the shipping information page for recommendations of couriers for international or larger items.

On successful purchase of items at auction, payment of your invoice should be made via any of the following accepted methods of payment as per our terms:

• Cash
• Debit card (in person)
• Direct bank transfer (details on invoice)

Note: We do not accept any form of credit card payment or any type of card payment over the telephone.

Attention is drawn to the Auctioneers Conditions of Sale. In particular, it is emphasised that all accounts must be settled on the day of sale. Please always remember that the lots purchased are at your own risk from the fall of the hammer, it is therefore in your own interest to get everything paid and collected as soon as possible.

In completing the online bidder registration and providing your payment card details you:

(i) confirm that you are authorised to provide these credit card details to the auctioneer and have sufficient funds available to complete the transaction.

(ii) agree to abide by the auctioneer’s conditions of sale and special terms and conditions as stated in these particulars and on the online bidding platform.

(iii) agree to make payment via the methods and timescales stated above at the completion of the auction and authorise the auctioneer that on failing to do so the credit/debit card given may be charged in part or full payment, including all fees, for items successfully purchased.

(iv) accept that, for live auctions, the online bidding platform is purely a means of communication and that the winning bid is the one verbally acknowledged by the auctioneer before the hammer falls. In the event of a conflict between the auctioneer’s verbal announcements and the online bidding platform, the auctioneer always takes precedence.
